What is your role at GridCure?

I am GridCure’s new Technical Project Manager. At GridCure I am optimizing the development process, ensuring the production of top-quality products, and making sure our clients are beyond totally satisfied. I like when I can wear many hats and have a large impact on many things. GridCure gives me this opportunity.

Why you are here, at GridCure?

This is my first time working in the US, and I was interested in gaining new experiences that I never could find in Russia. There are 3 simple “why’s”’:

  • Industry and philosophy: on the one hand, we help large utilities solve problems; on the other, we help save energy.
  • Technology: at GridCure, I found everything I am interested in – BigData, ML, IoT, and Cloud Architecture. There are so many things I can learn.
  • The team: I love to work with smart and curious technical teams, and here at GridCure, I found exactly what I want.

A bonus point is the great-great location. Boulder is an amazing city. I enjoy the view of the mountains from our office windows. I always dreamed of getting to work by bike, and now it is a reality.

What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy travelling and have a “rule” to visit at least 3 countries every year. My favorite country to visit is Portugal – a compilation of ocean, beautiful views, and delicious food. I like comedy shows and really enjoy open mics. Since moving to Boulder, I hike every weekend for almost the entire day. I just can’t get enough nature views.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

My dream vacation is not just a vacation, it is more reloading. Someday I want to take a trip around the world – just with a backpack and no plan. I realize it might be my last vacation.

Classic GridCure question – What’s your favorite line from a movie?

Since I am a huge movie fan, I know some movies almost verbatim. For example “The Terminator 2”, “The Naked Gun” (all parts), and “Rocky” (yeah, I love the 80’s). My all-time favorite movie is “The Terminator 2”, and the quote is:
“Because if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too.”
… and
“I need a vacation.” by the Terminator.
